Onsite Relaunch of Riding the Waves, 15 Years of Cinemalaya

A baker’s dozen of essays by renowned artists and cultural workers from different sectors of society – the media, the academe, film critics’ groups, a cultural organization, the literary circle, and foreign cultural offices.

Doreen Yu, Lito B. Zulueta, Jose Javier Reyes, Marjorie Evasco, Clodualdo del Mundo, Jr., Bayani San Diego, Jr., Philip Cheah, Max Tessier, Ben Suzuki, Jessica Zafra, Michael Kho Lim, and Chris B. Millado who are amongst the veritable who’s who in arts and culture in the world lent their voices to Riding the Waves, 15 Years of Cinemalaya.

Their unique vantage points and viewpoints provide a vibrant tapestry of narratives that aim to paint through words and images the first 15 years of the film festival.

The second edition writings are combined with the first edition long-form articles and even the Preface and Introduction carry the first and second editions. The book likewise serves as an archive of festival winners, competition films awards and festival history, an audience count summary, the festival posters through the years, and filmmakers’ profiles.
