Liway Wins Best Human Rights Film at 2019 Gems Hiyas ng Sining Awards

Kip Oebanda’s Liway won Best Human Rights Film, a special award at the 3rd Guild of Educators, Mentors, and Students – Hiyas ng Sining.

Liway also bagged the Best Actress award for Glaiza de Castro for her portrayal of Kumander Liway. The film was also nominated for Best Independent Film and Best Director for Kip Oebanda.

The awarding ceremony will happen on March 21 at the Center for Performing Arts, De La Salle Santiago Zobel School, Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa City.

Liway became the highest-grossing movie in Cinemalaya history and won the Audience Choice award for the full-length feature film category and the Special Jury Commendation for Acting for Kenken Nuyad, the child actor who played Dakip.
