Short Synopsis:
Inspired by the ceiling paintings of the old churches in Cebu and abroad like the Sistine Chapel, a parish priest in Bantayan Island embarks on his own ceiling painting project of epic proportions with the help of a ragtag bunch of artists on an evangelical mission through visual catechism.

Directors’ Profile

JANUAR YAP currently teaches at the University of the Philippines Cebu Mass Communication Program. He also edits and writes for SunStar Cebu. His short stories have won the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards and his works have appeared in various anthologies. He also directs short films and documentaries, many of which have garnered awards. He recently directed “Maharlika,” a segment in the Cebuano omnibus film Huwebes, Huwebes which bagged several nominations at the 43rd Gawad Urian.

KRISTOFFER VILLARINO is a freelance writer, director, and editor. His first short film Binaliw was awarded Best Regional Entry at the Gawad CCP para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video in 2002 and was a finalist at the .MOV Festival in 2005. He has since worked on various local and international films, documentaries, commercials, and music videos in the last 20 years, all within the confines of Cebu. He recently directed “Paburger sa Camotes”, a segment in the Cebuano omnibus film Huwebes, Huwebes which bagged several nominations at the 43rd Gawad Urian.
